"With small actions, we can make impact; that is what we do"
(James Varghese, Past District Governor)
We are working with ‘Rise Against Hunger’, an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world's most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.
Being hungry means more than just missing a meal. It’s a debilitating crisis that has more than 820 million people in its grip. Around the world, 821 million people do not have enough of the food they need to live an active, healthy life. One in every nine people goes to bed hungry each night, including 20 million people currently at risk of famine in South Sudan, Somalia, Yemen and Nigeria.

"Trees are like the lungs of the planet".
An average size tree produces enough oxygen in one year to keep a family of four breathing.
Three trees planted in the right place around buildings can cut air-conditioning costs up to 50 percent.
Trees increase the value of property.
They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen.
Additionally, they provide habitat for birds and other wildlife. Mature trees can absorb roughly 48 pounds of CO2 a year.
"Our team have the passion to cook and serve for homeless"
- Ln. Koshy John, Club Secretary
The Bay Area is home to some of the wealthiest and most expensive places to live in the world. In the shadow of this great wealth, thousands of people are homeless and many thousands more live below the poverty line on the verge of homelessness. There are many reasons people can become homeless: a traumatic event, loss of a job, the inability to pay for needed health-care, or a criminal background got in the way of finding a job.
In January 2014, there were 578,424 people experiencing homelessness on any given night in the United States. Of that number, 216,197 are people in families, and 362,163 are individuals. About 15% of the homeless population (84,291) are considered “chronically homeless” individuals.
About 9% of homeless people (49,933) are veterans In California: California hosts a total of 113,952 homeless individuals. This represents 20% of all homeless people in the United States. There are approximately 15,179 homeless veterans.
"Our team is working hard to create awareness on type 2 diabetes"
-G. Gopa Kumar, Director
Diabetes can lead to serious diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels, eyes, kidneys, nerves and teeth.
In most high-income countries, diabetes is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease, blindness, kidney failure, and lower limb amputation. It is expected to affect 629 million adults by 2045.
Diabetes is the signature cause of Lions and Leos around the world. This year, in partnership with the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Lions around the world are on a mission to make our mark by screening 1 million people for type 2 diabetes.
